The Boundless Playground, Bruce Park
THE BOUNDLESS PLAYGROUND-
BRUCE PARK, GREENWICH, CT

The junior League of Greenwich and the United Way of Greenwich
spearheaded the renovation of the Bruce Park playground. The project
was first proposed in 2006, and the ribbon cutting was in June, 2009. The
existing playground was restored and transformed into a “Boundless
Playground” – a Connecticut-based national non-profit organization
dedicated to helping communities design playgrounds for children (toddlers
to teens) with disabilities, making it accessible to children of all abilities as
well as the elderly or disabled caregivers.

As a separate but integral piece of the project, Green Fingers Garden Club
of Greenwich donated the “Sensory Garden”, using plants native to
Connecticut that would stimulate the senses and provide a colorful and
natural respite from the playground action.
