HOW RESIDENTIAL USE IMPACTS
QUANTITY AND QUALITY”

GCA Certificate of Excellence in Conservation

Life After Preview--
The display was in Greenwich Town Hall—two display cases—for the month of April. It traveled to the
Cos Cob Library for two months and then to Audubon in September 05, where it resides in full used as
part of their education program as of Feb. 2005! A small version was used at the Greenwich Library  in
March’06 in association with a program on Chemical Free Lawns.

Plastic bags take 400 years to degrade and paper bags are energy and water hogs when it comes to manufacturing them.  Now consider
that stores hand out 14 billion plastic bags and 10 billion paper bags every year!  Switching to reusable bags takes some behavior
modification (ie remembering to bring them) but it's clearly do-able:  Reusable bags are part of the culture in most of Europe and
somehow we've all been able to make the leap to the no-bags shopping experience of Costco, BJ's etc.     Hang in there !!
